This is Kathy Johnson writing - I am Betsy's partner at the Spiker Team at Deep Creek Lake. I hope you will take a minute and help save a piece of our history. The Delta Queen is in trouble and needs our help.
As many of you are aware, Tom and I spend our vacation time on a tandem bike in some interesting places. Two years ago, along with Karen and Tom Myers, we did a week long trip down the Mississippi River on the Delta Queen with our bike. The boat is a beautiful piece of history and actually a floating museum. We have just received this email from the man who arranges these vacations. The Delta Queen is in trouble (thanks to the US Congress and our crazy regulations) it is being decommissioned and forced off the water effective November 1, 2008. We really need a grass root effort here. This would be a great time to get this video to go "viral"
I would appreciate it if you would take a minute and watch the video and comment and the instructions below instuct. The Delta Queen is a cultural treasure. I hope we can save it!
Dear friends,
Hello from Bill McCready.
I am sending a brief plea to all of you who shared our tandeming odyssey along the Mississippi River.
In memory of our time together on this boat, won't you please take 3 short minutes to view the following plea from her crew?

PS: If you can find time to do more; a last-minute reprieve can only occur if the U.S. Congress bothers to take a vote.
1. The first step is to make this u-tube clip go "viral." Sign onto u- tube (it's free and easy) in order to "vote" this clip a 5-star rating.
2. Leave a comment. Because the # of comments is more important than the content, you can say as little as "Save the DQ"
3. Forward a link to this clip to everyone who knows about your week on the Delta Queen.
4. To learn more,

Kathy,
Great blog and information. Keep up the great work. I'd like to join the Deep Creek Lake Delta Queen fan club. All the best,
Andrew
